If you didn’t visit the Daily Star today, you may have done yourself a bit of a favor. Why? Well…

In the web world, we call this an uh-oh moment.
  • This is where a web site manager might say “uh-oh.”

It’s not often when a browser pops up with this type of message (at least, not if you stay away from the parts of the internet that try to sell you on such in-demand products in the same vein as homeopathic erectile dysfunction remedies), but when one does, that generally means that someone said okay to something they definitely should have turned down.

The problem appears to be fixed by now, but we’ll always have the memory.

  1. Well, David Mendez, the Arizona Daily Star’s most basic mobile version lacks these issues, and advertising (if one doesn’t count Burger King and Subway discounts, about which their content seem to be all wound up this morning).

  2. I run websites, I’ve had a site do that to me – it’s always been because I was managing a site that had shared hosting, and a bad neighbor did something evil and/or stupid.

    There was much raging.

    So it may not have been the Star’s fault, but then again — that’d mean they were on shared hosting, which would be pretty small-potato stuff.
