This week’s Skinny discusses many of the rumors floating around regarding local political possibilities come 2010. One name oft-discussed in these rumors: Gov. Janet Napolitano.
Well, Arizonans who breathed a sigh of relief earlier this week–upon learning that the Napster apparently wasn’t President-elect Barack Obama’s choice for AG–have resumed butt-puckering: Media sources are reporting that Obama has tapped Napolitano as his Homeland Security head.
Gov. Jan Brewer just became a likelihood, not a possibility. *Gulp.*
UPDATE: Brewer just sent out this statement:
“Within the past 12 hours there has been a tremendous amount of media speculation concerning Governor Napolitano’s potential appointment as President Elect Obama’s next Secretary of Homeland Security. At this time I have not heard from the Governor and am focusing on my job of certifying our State’s voting results. Until such time that I hear from the Governor, I will have no further comment.”
I repeat: *Gulp.*

Good for Janet, Baaadddd for us.
This would be a very bad decision!!! Janet has been against immigration enforcement in Arizona. This is bad for the country. She is not strong enough to take a stand to increase Border Protection. She will be another “Yes” man in the political process. DHS will go down the tubes if she is elected. So will all the hard work these men and women do for our country
