Hi Henry, you contributed this yesterday. Is that to say the paper is still up and running and folks are getting paid? What is the status of the weekly?
@Yes Rob: unfortunately, we don’t have any updates since Dan’s latest post.
Yes Bob: We’re definitely still working (and getting paid). The sale doesn’t go through until the end of the month, so until then (and possibly after), it’s business as usual.
I do not want you to go.
Unsure of why a capitalist would bother to buy a paper currently being published and then completely change it when they could skip that step and just start one of their own.
I suppose it might be the name that they are after but the Tucson Weekly by any other name or “redesigned” is not “The Weekly”. I hope it is made better for you and the staff.
Detractors of the TucsonWeekly may have finally found a way to silence articles from the authors and comments from the public; buy the publication out and close it down. (As the Phoenix based alternative pub that replaced TW at Circle K newsstands never took off, and has failed to claim any substantial portion of TW’s marketshare or advertisers)
Has 10/13’Communications provided any public assurance or declaration to the contrary?
