Pima County has counted another batch of about 16,000 votes today and Democratic Congressman Ron Barber has again closed some of the gap between him and Republican Martha McSally in the hotly contested Congressional District 2 race.
The latest count shows that McSally is now leading Barber by 363 votes. Yesterday, she lead by 1,293 votes.
County spokesman Mark B. Evans tells us about 14,000 votes remain to be counted, along with about 10,000 provisional ballots that may or may not be valid ballots. An unknown number are in CD2.
Cochise County, where McSally ran ahead of Barber, did not post new results today. There are an estimated 3,222 uncounted ballots in Cochise County.

In the other close race we’re watching in Pima County, Democratic challenger Randy Friese has now taken a 233-vote lead over Republican state Rep. Ethan Orr in Legislative District 9. Yesterday, Orr led the race by 8 votes.

Go Martha!
Go where?
We can only pray that the Real Colonel beats Colonel Saunders!……
And then when you remove/discount all of the votes submitted by illegal aliens, McSally should be atleast 10x more than the current 363 tally.
I have no faith in the integrity of the system in Pima County. I’ll be surprised (yet delighted!) if McSally wins. The Old Boy Network is too invested in Ron Barber even though he’ll be a political eunich in the current House if he does win.
The numbers suggest that, if there are no changes in these trends, Barber will win by about 0.4 to 0.2%.
The county plans to keep staff counting ballots until Ron Barber has gain the lead.
Ron BARBER is a Cheater of the 1st Order.. Nuff Said.
Pima County still has more ballots to count, before reporting them to the Secretary of State; so it will be another busy day at the Elections Center. When Ron Barber is in the lead they will stop counting ballots.
If you find some absentee ballots in the trash please bring it to the Pima County Election Office, only if Ron Barber is checked on the ballet. Otherwise leave it alone.
More than likely, the Illegal Aliens will win the day for Barber. It is a well known fact that La Raza was directing illegals to a few election places where they weren’t checking ID’s.
I could have counted all of the outstanding ballots by myself by hand…. so I wonder what is taking them so long.

Just another example of why Tucson (Pima) is such a backwater. The local TV News is another example, I love it when the on air reporters show up at yet another shooting in South Tucson showing us exciting clips of an empty street. Sometimes they remember to turn on their microphones!!
{ sospect that there is a skunk in the woodpile as far as the elections go in Arizona…Why did the Sec. Of State’s computers shut down 4 times during the election??? Was that to allow vote flipping from Democrats to Republicans in the State elections? How is it possible that David Garcia the most qualified candidate for Superintendent of Instruction be replaced by Diana Douglas the least qualified? And is it mathematical possible for most of the Democratic slate of candidates to lose? Frankly, I don’t trust the electoral process in Arizona any further than I can throw a brick chit house!!!
pima (Tucson) ,is little Chicago , if there man with his 1.4 million place in Mexico look’s like he wont win ,then out comes the votes that was lost ?? If he was truthful he would of only got the illegal vote.
Barber is soliciting funds for a recount. By my estimates that would take PC Elections about two years to accomplish.
Isn’t the term of office two years? hmmmmm
I appreciate being in a competitive district.
@Gandalf the White – the classic is a long shot down a dark street of the back sides of emergency vehicles, lights flashing. Lame. So lame.
The point is to count EVERY vote, which takes time. When they are early ballots that were dropped off on election day, or provisional ballots cast at the polling place, it requires human beings and paperwork to verify and tabulate the ballots, not just computers. It’s a job that cannot be done by computers, and that’s a good thing.
I think it’s really funny that all the people whining about illegal aliens voting (which is absolutely nonsense, despite years of complaining and investigating there is NO PROOF that this occurs, so grow up please and find some other conspiracy theory to hang your hat on) are not willing to take the time to ensure the integrity of the election by carefully verifying these ballots. Just the usual lack of logic or perspective from the haters.
Here we go its all about “the aliens, the aliens, the aliens, no trouble” The aliens took my job, the aliens ate my homework, poor me. If Barber wins do you think 100 electoral volunteers and fair people joined a conspiracy to cheat? Grow up and take responsibility for yourself.
I don’t really care who wins since they’re all incompetent. I do find it ironic that the bible-thumping republicans are out in force to support an obviously gay candidate.

Good point, Rudy. Why do republicans think the world is out to get them? The paranoid party just never changes. Liberal media! Aliens! Baby killers! hahahaha. Grow up indeed.
