If you like the idea of minting your own coins from silver and gold or just want to pay your bills in shiny nuggets, you’d better start heating up the smelter. SB 1439, which established coins with silver or gold content to be legal tender in the state, passed out of the Senate yesterday on a 17-11 vote. It’s now up for consideration in the House of Representatives.

  1. More wasteful bills sponsored by local Senator Al Melvin. Why are they wasting time and money on this crap when we have so many REAL issues? Arizona will never secede and never be able to make its own currency. They need to get this through their heads already.

  2. REALLY “tawnie”,….exactly What are the “REAL” issues?
The Paper Dollars BO is printing as fast as he can, are basically…WORTHLESS. You should realize this every time you fill up your car or buy food, if you had saved THAT dollar bill for ten years it bought about 50 cents worth of goods. Silver and Gold, are money.

  3. Shocks me that they are moving forward with this but then again the $USD$ won’t be worth much soon — Have you thanked a liberal today?

  4. Goodness knows this and the fence are so futuristic! All AZ needs now is a moat with vats of boiling oil on top of the ramparts!

  5. Stupid stupid legislators! Why are they wasting time on this? It is illegal to mint your own coins in the United States.

  6. So “tawnie”…I see you have not answered my question, are we at a loss for words?
