Ben Carson has said a number of unusual things in his quest for the White House, but the latest—his belief that pyramids were giant grain silos rather than tombs for Egyptian pharaohs—seems to have pushed a lot of pundits into straight-up ridicule of the GOP frontrunner.
MSNBC’s Morning Joe has questioned “whether he has the temperament, whether he has the character to be President of the United States.” Fox News’ Shep Smith is straight up mocking him. And NY Mag’s Jonathan Chait has flagged a fascinating quote from an interview Carson gave to CNN:
In other recent Carson news: Politico reveals he fabricated a story about being accepted at West Point and Carson 2016 has released a rap radio ad. Time magazine notes:
Called “Freedom,” the 60 second rap by the rapper Aspiring Mogul contains bits of Carson speaking throughout.
“Heal (vote, vote)/ Inspire (vote, vote) / Revive (vote, vote)/ Ben Carson 2016, vote and support Ben Carson, for our next president, it’d be awesome,” Aspiring Mogul raps.

He doesn’t believe in evolution.
He thinks the pyramids were used as grain silos.
He lied and admitted he lied about being offered a West Point scholarship.
And he said about climate cahnge, “There is no overwhelming science that the things that are going on are man-caused and not naturally caused.”
He believes and says these things in public forums – How is reporting statements and beliefs like this an “attack for the color of his skin”?

You see the media thinks they must destroy them before the public sees them. Just like Herman Cain. And he is right about global warming. We are now in a cooling period. It it happens naturally.
All you need to know about the media is that they never got Obama’s transcripts. Did they? Blacks are required to be liberals. The media protects them.

Little Jimmie Nintzel – once again spreading the hate and lies. Carson NEVER said he was accepted. The only thing being fabricated is the Politico story and little jimmie nintzel repeating the lie. Will little jimmie apologize for spreading the lie – for unabashedly lying about a black man, not just a half white/half black man that calls himself black, but a genuine accomplished black man?
“I was told that because of my accomplishments, they would be able to manage to get me into West Point and that I wouldn’t have to pay anything,” Carson said on the Christian Broadcasting Network. He said he decided not to apply and went to Yale University instead to pursue medicine. “There was no application process [at West Point]. I never even started down that path,” Carson said.
I have a headache after reading the comments posted here. The only comment that acts as a pain reliever is the one posted by Jim Hart. The rest of you are something else, just proving that common sense is not all that common.
P.S. : When you use CBN as a reference, it says a lot about you; and believe me, none of what it says is positive.

If I say something negative about one of Obummer’s many flawed polices that makes me a racist. Mr. Nintzel can say something negative about Dr. Carson and that’s all right. You see, it’s racist to say something bad about a person of color. Provided they’re liberal. Conservative? Not so much.
This pyramid thing is being handled badly by Carson and the media. We all know the pyramids were used as hangars for the spaceships our alien ancestors used while populating the planet.

Do you folks really not know how racism works? Or are you just whining that someone is criticizing a conservative? It is not racist to criticize Obama’s policies and decisions. It is not racist to criticize the things Ben Carson says. It is racist to say you don’t like either man because they are black. And if you truly believe only God, not man, can affect the climate and the planet we live on…well, I feel bad for you and I hope you didn’t pay money for your education or lack thereof.

UPDATE: Politico has updated its headline and removed allegations that the Ben Carson campaign admitted to “fabricating” his West Point story.
The headline now reads: “Exclusive: Carson claimed West Point ‘scholarship’ but never applied.”
Too late…they have accomplished their goal to discredit him.

A few times every year I try to believe, really believe, that climate change is reversing itself and not caused by humans, but I always have to reconsider. Glaciers around the world continue to rapidly disappear. China, for just one example, burns extraordinary amounts of coal, puts thousands of tons of soot into the air, and then lies about it. I do not care one molecule about Ben Carson’s race, but his world view is misguided by oversimplification and consistently seems overly influenced by some kind of strange religious fatalism. In other words, he really could be a crackpot.

I’m not sure about Trump. We desperately need what he’s talking about in many areas. But I wish he would get a spokesperson that could say it differently. And then get to work on it.
