On tonight’s edition of AZ Illustrated Politics: Tucson City Councilman Steve Kozachik, Tucson Tea Party founder Trent Humphries and former Tucson City Council aide Miguel Ortega join host Jim Nintzel to discuss Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild’s State of the City Speech; Rothschild’s call for more annexation; Vail’s push to incorporate into a town; the ongoing debate over immigration reform; TUSD’s school closures; and the future of TUSD’s Mexican-American Studies program. (Or at least that’s all on the agenda. We’ll see how much of it we can cover!)

Getting hassled by The Man Mild-mannered reporter

  1. Jim, you were too nice to the blathering and stammering Trent Humphries. When Steve K called Humphries out for ridiculously stupid posts on his Facebook page, I noticed you tried to soften the blow, by mentioning posts on your own facebook page. Don’t do it. Just like Steve K said, Republican extremism has gone beyond the range of mainstream thinking. Isn’t there a moderate Republican somewhere in the Tucson metro area that can take Humphries place on the panel? On the other hand, if Humphries represents mainstream Republican ideas, maybe it’s a good thing for him to keep talking. Republicans are doomed, but it sure is taking a lot of time for them to go the way of the dinosaurs.
