Since last year’s mass shooting in Aurora, Colo., the anonymous Twitter account @GunDeaths has posted a tweet for every news story they could find of a person who has been killed by a gun in North America, “regardless of cause and without comment.”
After the shooting in Newtown, Slate partnered with @GunDeaths to create an interactive map tabulating the locations of each such death—while admitting that the map is “necessarily incomplete.”
What they’ve found, to date, is that at least 643 people in America have been killed by guns since Dec. 14.
We can get pedantic and argumentative about it, as I’m sure some of the folks reading this will: that guns didn’t kill people, the bullets killed them, or the person holding the gun killed them. If there were more guns, the victims could have protected themselves. If there were fewer guns, the attacks wouldn’t have even happened.
Whatever. The arguments are irrelevant, because 643 people are dead.
Whether or not you blame the gun or the person behind it, the fact remains that firearms were the tools that manufactured those deaths.

The arguments are irrelevant? I’m not sure about that. The arguments are tired and repetitive, sure. But, with 643 dead, they’re anything but irrelevant. Dialogue is really the only option we have to move forward.
How many are alive because they used a gun in self defense? How many of the 643 were killed because they were attempting to commit a crime and stopped by someone with a gun? This is more leftist propaganda brought to you by tucson weekly

As I’ve said, the fact that matters is that 643 people were killed by guns.
Some were killed in or after the commission of a crime. Some were suicides. Some were killed by accidental weapons discharges. Some were murdered by former lovers–or just randomly. Some were with guns that were lawfully owned, some weren’t.
Those weren’t the issues that I was looking at with this post. The issue was just the cold, hard number that you may or may not have been aware of. It’s up to you whether or not you do something with the information, or just brush it off.

Take all guns from law abiding citizens that purchased their guns legally and all you clowns are going to have is criminals with guns. Criminals as in robbers, killers and such….you know the ones that steal the guns or purchase them illegally ……what are you libs going to do about getting those guns? I really don’t see them turning them in for a $50. gift card.

Many of the people on the infographic were killed by police officers.
And how many people were killed by sharp objects? How many people were beat to death? I’m sorry if this sounds cold but those deaths are worth the price of our freedom.
