On Arizona Public Media’s Arizona Week last night, host Michael Chihak had an in-depth look at the pros and cons of Prop 204, which would extend the one-cent sales tax, with 80 percent of the funding going to education, 10 percent going to roads and 10 percent going to social services, with an eye toward capturing federal matching funds for programs that help foster children, health care for kids and similar efforts. Watch the whole thing after the jump.

  1. Tax tax tax, aren’t the people taxed enough. That’s all everyone & politicians think about doing to correct their mistakes and mishandling. Most of these taxes that steal from the peoples pocket are misused. Most of these people voting issues are so screwy written ya can’t understand what u are voting for anyway. Besides that is why you elect your city council member, state represtentive, etc; go through them, let them know how you feel and let them vote accordingly; that’s the system. Why have a represtentive if people are going to vote on all these issues. Did the people get to vote on ObamaCare??? No! Did the people directly vote on the stimulas package?? Again No! So why on these local issues? Far as taxes are concerned I’m taxed enough aren’t you??

  2. There are no “pros”…this is definitely another con. I’m taxed enough already. I will definitely be voting no–we regular people have budgets we live by, and our wages aren’t being increased…how do we afford all these extra taxes? While wealthy CEO’s are putting more money in their pockets & hidden offshore accts.—they’re crying the blues about taxes while threatening employees with layoffs and/or reduced hours. This has become a “trickle up” economy with money flowing out of my pocket and into theirs.
