Well, now you’ve done it, Center for Arizona Policy and the remaining Republican legislators who haven’t had a change of thought – you’ve gone and pissed off Apple:

Corporate tech giant Apple has asked Gov. Jan Brewer to veto the controversial religious freedom bill SB1062, the company and the Governor’s Office confirmed.

Brewer spokesman Andrew Wilder said the governor spoke on the phone with the company.

The request comes as Apple prepares to open a new sapphire glass manufacturing plant in Mesa. The plant, which Brewer and other political leaders have touted as economic development coup for Arizona, will employ about 700 full-time employees.

Apple, of course, joins basically every other business organization in the state in voicing its opposition to the terrible legislation, which still awaits Brewer’s presumed veto.

  1. Good. I hope the rest of America squeezes our executive balls so hard our legislative eyes pop out.

  2. If y’all succeed in getting the Governor to veto SB 1062, and amendment to existing law, the ‘joke’ might very well be on y’all. Existing law favors business and the right to, or not to contract more so than if SB 1062 becomes law.

  3. If Brewer signs the bill, I’m going into business to produce a badge of a Rainbow flag superimposed over a Yellow star.

That’ll make it so much easier for any moronic merchant to identify gay and lesbians.

  4. The people of Arizona needs shirts with words that reject the conservatives. People are fed up with those few that have taken over Phoenix. Lets get rid of the radicals and send them to Mexico. Maybe the druggie will catch them and do what they do so well. Polls show that older and retirees vote for the radicals. SC Rep. T. Scott says he gets the majority of his support from the old people. They are easy to convince for most anything.

  5. Let’s be clear that it’s the right wing Republicans in the legislature who have stupidly committed this bigotry.

  6. Excuse me, Sam Smith, I’m 74 – still working by the way – and I and most of my friends demonstrated on Sunday at City Hall against this bill. Please don’t stereotype older people. Many of us are progressives.
