If there was ever any doubt that a local food-truck festival might work, Monday’s Tucson Food-Truck Roundup settled the matter.
Organizers of the event were expecting a hundred or so people to show up, but many more did. The lines were long, all the trucks sold out of food and pretty much everybody I’ve spoken to said they had an absolute blast.
Not bad for a Monday night. Not bad for any night.
The word over on the Tucson Food Trucks Facebook page is that the event might be held monthly, but the next date hasn’t been announced yet. There’s discussion of adding a few more trucks as well, which might cut down on the wait times.
Whatever the case, it looks like Tucson had a craving for such a thing and here’s hoping we see more of the same before long.

We certainlyt did not have a blast. We thought it was a complete clusterf**k.
That’s too bad, because everyone I talked to was having a fine time. I can’t wait to do it again! Far from a “clusterfuck.”
I am glad it was successful. Hopefully the next one can be scheduled for a day/time when many more people can attend to keep the momentum alive.
I know I would not miss it if it were held on a weekend.
