The Fix is a new restaurant that’s going in at Main Gate Square The theme? Macaroni-and-cheese, and lots of it.

There will be Alfredo mac-and-cheese, jalapeno-popper mac-and-cheese and a taco version. Varieties with bacon, bratwurst, various vegetables and other things will also be available.

Also on the menu: Sandwiches – including one that is basically a big scoop of homemade mac-and-cheese between two pieces of bread – salads, appetizers, beer and dessert.

The restaurant is going in where Sultan Palace used to be. The sign on the door says the grand opening is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 14.

  1. Amanda, I wish you the best, I lovvvvve Mac and cheese! It is a great comfort food! You go girl!

  2. All I can say is, back in the dark ages when I lived on campus at UA, all we had was Wendy’s, Domino’s and Greasy Tony’s. And we liked it that way. No cereal restaurant. No mac-and-cheese restaurant. Modern college kids are wussies! :-p

  3. Mac and cheese was so 2 years ago in the restaurant trend biz, only in Tucson to implement it now!
