Ever thought you could cook an egg on the ground just because it was so hot outside? Well, you can learn how to cook much more than an egg using only the sun’s energy at the Equinox Solar Potluck and Exhibition this Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Valley of the Moon (2544 E. Allen Road). Peruse their selection of solar appliances including ovens, coolers and electrical systems.

Sun baked ribs, hot dogs, cookies and more are on the menu with live acoustic music, exhibitors and sol-inspired art on deck as well. Admission is free. This one-of-a-kind potluck is open to the public from 10 a.m. until the sun goes down. For more info, go to www.solarguild.org.

  1. At Tucson High, in the late 50’s, Coach Jones, our PE teacher, told us we didn’t have to do push ups on the exceeding hot pavement IF we could cook a raw egg. Somehow it was never THAT hot and the push ups prevailed. Your article brought back that memory from well over 50 years ago.
