An outdoor vigil, as part of Transgender Awareness Week from ASUA Pride Alliance on the UA campus, takes place Thursday, Nov. 30, 6 p.m. at Old Main Fountain for International Transgender Day of Remembrance. This is a time to honor and mourn transgender people who have died the past year, and raise awareness of hate crimes against transgender people and people who are targeted because of their gender identity and/or gender expression. The outdoor vigil will be followed by a procession to Fluxx Studios on Ninth Street east of Fourth Avenue. For more information on Transgender Awareness Week go to their Facebook page.

Hello,
I’m very glad this is in the paper, but would like to point out that the vigil is on November 20th (tomorrow) not November 30th. Thank you!
Yes, in addition to being today, November 20, rather than Nov 30, Tucson’s Transgender Day of Remembrance observance, like all Trans Awareness Week events, is a collaboration among the ASUA Pride Alliance, the University’s LGBTQ Affairs Office and the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance. More info on Awareness Week events can be found at http://www.sagatucson.org.
Thank you both for your clarifications. Our apologies.
