Update: Bad News, TW readers! We received word this morning that the Great Hula Challenge has been postponed until the Fall. If you’re itching to get your Hula on, sign up for updates from the organization.

Original Story: Have you tried to hula recently? If you stopped at the Great Hula Challenge booth at Cyclovia a couple of weeks ago, perhaps you were reminded at how difficult yet fun this pastime can be. Remind yourself again, on Friday, May 1, at the Kino Sports Complex North Stadium, 2817 E. Ajo Way, from 4 to 8 p.m. The goal is 5,000 hula hoopers gathered to break the world record and put Tucson in the Guinness Book of World Records for hula-hooping for eight straight minutes. You have to sign up, so go to the event’s Facebook page for more info and be there by 5:30 p.m. You can also go here, TheGreatHulaChallenge.com.
