DeGrazia Paints the Seri Indians and Ted DeGrazia’s “Unseen Landscapes” bring rare works out of storage and into public view for a limited time. It features paintings, watercolors and drawings from the museum’s collection. These exhibitions include pieces shown publicly for the first time as well as works unseen for decades. Visitors will wander through the ethereal adobe architecture and verdant desert garden of the historic foothills property. Hand built by DeGrazia, the 10-acre site stands as a testament to his legacy of artistic brilliance and his genuine connection to the region’s history, culture and scenery.

Mini Time Machine Museum

Explore a unique collection of 11 hand-painted die-cast model cars and miniature vehicles featured in the Arizona State Museum’s “Traditions in Motion” exhibition. Created by Native artists, the pieces showcase how Indigenous communities blend heritage and contemporary culture through customized vehicles and other forms of transportation. The exhibit highlights a dynamic artistic tradition that transforms everyday objects into expressions of identity, creativity and cultural pride.

Tween Filmmaking Camp

JULY 13 through JULY 17

Young filmmakers can explore the magic of silent cinema during this hands-on camp focused on visual storytelling, expressive acting and classic movie-making techniques. Campers will experiment with green screen effects and create their own silent film scene. The week concludes with a red-carpet premiere featuring their films accompanied live by a Wurlitzer theatre organ.

Happy Together Tour

Relive the soundtrack of the 1960s and ‘70s as the Happy Together Tour returns for its 17th year. The nostalgia concert features more than 60 Billboard hits performed by original artists, including The Association, The Troggs, Jason Scheff of Chicago, Gary Puckett, The Fortunes, Ron Dante, The Vogues and The Cowsills.

Night Ops

JULY 18

Attendees that join Pima Air & Space Museum and the Tucson Military Vehicle Museum can experience both museums on select evenings with discounted admissions and themed activities. SOFIA Airborne Observatory or Orbis Flying Eye Hospital tours are included on alternating nights. Purchase entry at either museum upon arrival. Wristbands provided for access to both museums. The theme for Night Ops on July 18 is Locomotion Commotion.

40th Celebration

Celebrate a blast from the past as the Children’s Museum Tucson marks its 40th birthday with a free, after-hours, family-friendly ‘80s-themed party. Enjoy live music by Dmitri and the Bug Club, dancing, face painting, food trucks, tie-dye, classic activities like Shrinky Dinks and Spirograph, plus plenty of nostalgic fun. Summer Tucson Tavern Series

Escape the summer heat with Summer Lovin’, a choral concert by Tucson’s Helios Ensemble celebrating nature, romance and the season through works by Brahms, Britten, Whitacre and others. The 50-member community chorus, founded and directed by Dr. Benjamin Hansen, presents an uplifting program featuring Liebeslieder Waltzes, Summer Together and more.

Alejandro Canelos’ 10-Minute Dramas

Invisible Theatre offers a cool escape from the summer heat with Alejandro Canelos’ 10-Minute Dramas, running July 23-26. The production features eight fast-paced original plays spanning comedy, drama and the absurd, directed by Betsy Kruse Craig and Carrie Cole. A four-person cast brings multiple characters to life in an approximately 80-minute performance recommended for ages 13 and older.
