The tragedy that took place on Jan. 8, 2011 still resonates with most Tucsonans, and the story of former U.S. Congresswoman Gabby Giffords’ recovery aided by her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, is one that many of us are familiar with and have seen the couple discuss on TV news shows. Here’s a chance to listen to the couple in person, which seems the best way to hear their personal story of triumph over adversity. The evening takes place at Centennial Hall, 1020 E. University Blvd., on Sunday, Oct. 26, 7 p.m. Tickets are between $20 and $55. For more info and to purchase tickets, go to uapresents.org.

  1. Who’d want to go see or hear the turn around back stabbing gabby? She needs to stick a sock in her mouth and shut the hell up about gun control. She’s making people sick the way she is running all over the country thinking she’s bettering things. Go home gabby and stay there.

  2. Hey “had enough,” enough with the nasty verbiage. That is simply hate speak. If you don’t like something call one of the many local talk radio shows that specialize in it. Or better yet keep it to yourself and others who only want to rant and hate. You are free to think anything you wish, but please show a little respect for those of us who want to encourage a more civilized country.

  3. hadenough.. great post.. shows what an idiot you are, and an uncaring, psychopathic, gun toting, Terminator Wannabee you are.

People like you encourage those who really don’t have any business owning a deadly weapon to go get one and use it.

The irony is that until some fruitcake like you uses a letha weapon on you, you won’t understand the message that Gabby Giffords is trying to convey.

Live long an well in your state of paranoia.. but for the grace of God.

  4. Gabby is not conveying any thing that hasnt been conveyed before. The little pin head husband is just parading her around for the same o same o stuff to get him some tv and money. And people like you encourage him.

  5. Please please please mark put your puppet a away. She went from a respected politician to a martyr. Push mental health reform and include it in obamacare that you voted for I might listen.

  6. You ignorant fucks that diss Gabby are truly pathetic. The woman, in official conduct of Congressional business, was gunned down by a psychotic gunman and her life changed forever. Do any of you mouth breathing morons think you’d have one-quarter of her gumption to overcome such adversity.? You are de facto disgusting. Nasty, ugly, pathetic.
