Happy Valentine’s Day!
Here are some dining options–not covered here previously–for that special day.
Cup (of Love) Café: May your cup runneth over at the Hotel Congress with a three-course prix fixe menu for $69 per couple. 311 E. Congress St.; 798-1618.
Desert Diamond Casino: The odds are in your favor that this three-course dinner is a winner for $34.95 per person. I’d choose house-cured gravlax and salmon roe with buckwheat blinis, Mediterranean skewered seafood with garlicky-lemon beurre blanc sauce and the romantic finale–dark chocolate liquor soufflé. 1100 W. Pima Mine Road; 294-7777.
Janos: Let the six-course tasting menu begin with oysters on the half shell, butter-basted lobster tail, pan-seared sturgeon with dried-tomato gnocchi, roast duck breast and brandy-flamed winter mushrooms and dark chocolate Bavarian for dessert for $95 per person, or $135 with wine pairings. 3770 E. Sunrise Drive; 615-6100.
Macayo’s: Couples can cozy up this Valentine’s Day for the traditions special, which is meant for sharing the enchilada bites appetizer, a plate of four enchiladas served with rice and beans, and enchiladas dulces for dessert. Check out www.macayo.com for a location near you.
RA Sushi: RA dishes up passion with the aphrodisiac affair. Be seduced by food allegedly thought to heighten romance, including bananas, chocolate, lobster, champagne and asparagus … but not in that order. From Feb. 10-14, enjoy passion lobster roll, a split of Domaine Chandon and a fried banana stuffed with chocolate then topped with Kahlua sauce for $22. 2905 E. Skyline Drive; 615-3970.
Raz: Saturday, Feb. 11, through Valentine’s Day, Raz will offer specials of steak and lobster or shrimp scampi. Dinner includes champagne or wine and chocolate-covered strawberries for $32 per person. 1929 E. Grant Road; 327-2223.
Red Sky Café: If you still get goose bumps listening to “Strawberry Fields Forever,” then go to Red Sky Café for live music by the Magical Mystery Tour, along with a four-course dinner for $65 per person. 2900 N. Swan Road, Suite 100; 326-5454.
Soleil: Soleil marries Tucson’s best view with a four-course dinner for $55 per person, which includes vegetarian choices. Twenty couples have popped the question in the past six years. Could you be No. 21? They are happy to hide a ring in the crème brulée. 3001 E. Skyline Drive; 299-3345.
