Best Gay Bar

Club 2520
2520 N. Oracle Road

READERS' AND STAFF PICK: Gay or not, Club 2520's energetic atmosphere makes it one of the best alternative dance clubs in town. This is largely due to the well-known but unutterable truth that as a body of people, gays boogie like none other. But the other essential ingredient is the laid-back, fun-loving atmosphere you get when you combine country-western and disco dancing under one roof. The large, U-shaped dance hall has two wings, with DJs spinning foot-stompin' country on one side and high-tech disco on the other. A long bar bridges the two in the middle, with some of the cheapest drinks in town. The club is a good place to leave your inhibitions at the door and shake your groove thang until the wee hours.

READERS' POLL RUNNER-UP: Hours, 3455 E. Grant Road.
