Tanque Verde Swap Meet
4100 S. Palo Verde Road

STAFF PICK: Sure, you can head for the expensive chain stores and their "alternative" collections, but if you really want a taste of the unique, what better place than the dozens of music vendors at the Tanque Verde Swap Meet? It's easy to find oddball cassettes to please both the kitsch lover and the classic rock collector in you, not to mention the occasional 8-track...and who can resist those wonderful tents selling pop and dance music from Mexico? A word of caution--make sure to shop during cooler hours, or that Wayne Newton tape you just picked up is going to implode by the time you reach your car.
