FISHING CLINICS. Arizona Game and Fish announces open enrollment for free fishing clinics, providing education and hands-on fishing to groups of 25 or more. Eligible groups include churches, scouts, hospitals, recreation and senior centers. Schools can schedule clinics after 8 a.m. Tuesday, September 8. Game and Fish provides up to 100 rods and reels, necessary bait and tackle. All license requirements are waived during the fishing outing. Volunteers are also needed to help with the clinics. Call Ed Davenport at 884-9394 to enroll for a clinic or to volunteer.
HUMMINGBIRD WATCH. San Pedro House Visitor Center. The public is invited to watch as staff and volunteers from the Southeastern Arizona Bird Observatory capture and band hummingbirds on the San Pedro River. Banding sessions are from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, August 29, and every Monday in September. Call (520) 432-1388, or visit the SABO web site at http://www.sabo.org, for information.
NIGHT WALKS. Saguaro National Park East. Join park naturalists exploring the desert night life during special night walks from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. Advance registration is required. Contact the East Visitor Center at 733-5153 for information.
TOHONO CHUL PARK. 7366 N. Paseo del Norte. 742-6455. "Walk
in the Park" tours, an overview of the park's 48 acres and
its flora and fauna, are offered at 8 a.m. Tuesday and Saturday.
"Art in the Park" tours, docent-guided looks at gallery
exhibits, are at 11 a.m. Thursday and Sunday. The park offers
additional guided tours for your enjoyment. "Birds of Tohono
Chul" provides opportunities to observe the many species
frequenting the park, and meets at 7 a.m. Wednesday and Saturday.
Grounds are open from 7 a.m. to sunset daily. Exhibit hours are
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday,
