TURTLE PATROL. The Coastal Conservation Foundation of Tucson is offering a field study program in sea turtle restoration. The program, Proyecto Tortuga, is located in Nayarit, Mexico. Participants will patrol beaches nightly to aid in the protection of the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtle, and have the opportunity to help with local environmental education classes and biodiversity studies. The program begins in July and runs through September. Contact the CCF at P.O. Box 3621, Tucson, AZ 85722 for information.

RECYCLING CENTERS. The following neighborhood drop-off centers are open 24 hours daily: Cholla High School, 2001 W. 22nd St.; Booth-Fickett Magnet School, 7240 E. Calle Arturo; and Morrow Education Center, 1010 E. 10th St. All city and county landfills also have recycling centers. Call 791-5000 for hours and locations. Multi-material recycling facilities are located at Recycle America, 945 S. Freeway Blvd. Call 622-4731 for hours.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE. The Tucson/Pima County hazardous waste disposal site, 2440 W. Sweetwater Drive, is open from 8 a.m. to noon every Friday and Saturday for household waste disposal. Outreach centers are open from 8 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of the month at the following locations: Eastside City Hall, 7575 E. Speedway; TFD Fire Academy, 797 E. Ajo Way; and the Park and Ride parking lot located on Ina Road one block west of Oracle (Ina Road & Via Ponte). For more information call 740-3340.
