Best Birthday Party

Rocks & Ropes
330 S. Toole Ave.

STAFF PICK: Rocks & Ropes, the indoor climbing gym, offers a happening birthday party for cool kids who like to think they're ready for The X Games. The gym has more than 75 routes up and across prefabricated "rock" walls stretching 28 to 36 feet upwards. An orientation and lesson for all participants is required, and experienced instructors will show you the ropes (that is, teach you and the kids the skills you need to have fun and be safe). You can provide the adults yourself (they recommend one adult per two children), or you can hire Rocks & Ropes staffers at $10 an hour per person for up to two hours. An upstairs viewing area is available for the pizza and cake (you bring).
