Club Cactus Junior Volleyball

STAFF PICK: Keeping kids occupied and out of trouble no longer means plunking them in front of a computer or television screen behind locked doors. With Tucson's long list of well-organized youth sports leagues--Little League baseball, Bobby Sox softball and AYSO soccer, to name a few--the city's youth can exercise their propensity for running wild in a healthy, safe and fun environment. Club Cactus Junior Volleyball is one such outstanding organization. Its purity of purpose, dedication to the game, and across-the-board sportsmanship make CCJ a best bet for active pre-adolescents. Even better is that, unlike seasonal sports leagues, the club offers boys and girls the chance to enjoy the rapidly growing sport of volleyball almost year-round! And you haven't lived dangerously until you've attended a CCJ tournament. Games are played on three side-by-side courts, in round-robin play, followed by double-elimination--and you only brought one book, one pillow and one Super Big Gulp! At least you have nearly an entire year to get it right.

BICAS/Bootstraps to Share teaches people of all ages how to salvage, save, repair, ride, build, and enjoy bicycles. Working with little money but with lots of creativity, inspiration, and common sense, they empower people with skills, and promote transportation that doesn't pollute.
