Best Sign Of The Times

Planet Coffee
736 E. Fort Lowell Road

STAFF PICK: Tucson is blessed with vintage road signs. Most of them, concentrated along Oracle Road and Miracle Mile, we come by honestly: vestiges not only of America's post-war obsession with the family road trip (many belong to dilapidated motels), but also of a happier, less-regulated era. But there's one new addition that combines two American obsessions in one: the car and the coffee bean; and as a bonus, they even throw in the coin-op laundromat next door. It's the new sign for the even newer Planet Coffee, and we love it. (And they have pretty good coffee roasting facilities, too.)
