Best Place To Buy Independent Music And Play Tron

STAFF PICK: A quick drive by 714 N. Stone Ave. may only reveal a restaurant supply store. But look closer and you'll find Sound Addict, the latest addition to the independently owned record store scene. After a first visit this search may become practiced habit. Owner Tim Sanborn has built an impressive stock of new and used records, CDs, tapes, T-shirts, patches, and even coffee cups advertising bands and music labels. Stocking priorities in the store tend toward independent labels, hardcore punk, and ska bands for now. Plans to expand in scope and selection are firm.

Beyond retail, Sound Addict houses live shows combining bands touring nationally with local groups. The shows are cheap, and the music played highly varied. This opportunity to see bands in a small, personal space is ripe and must be taken advantage of, lest we (once again, D.P.C. fans) lose the option. This is the good stuff: Get addicted.
