Best Salads
STAFF PICK: Le Bistro, 2574 N. Campbell Ave., an upscale nouvelle cuisine joint tucked inconspicuously alongside a Campbell Avenue strip mall, serves a lovely selection of meal-sized, inexpensive salads to complement a list of pricier entrees. The mixed greens and vegetables, some locally produced, are fresh and crisp; the just-whipped-up dressings, many using fine herbs and fruits, are flavorful; and the presentation is attractive. Our favorite is a concoction featuring scallops and endive, but you can choose from several other salads--including a very serviceable Caesar--that appear daily, along with chef's specials that make use of seasonal produce and seafood.
