Best Take-Out Burger

STAFF PICK: Reminiscent of the American Graffiti/Happy Days version of the 1950s (which is when they last painted their decaying sign), Shari's Drive-In, 2650 N. First Ave., offers the finest in dead cow products, gloriously slathered with bacon, cheese, gooey stuff and more bacon. If you want real meat, not some wussy, pre-digested wafer from McFranchise, drive on in to Shari's, give your order to the friendly and youthful counterperson, and wait in the open, barely shaded picnic area for your number to be called. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and don't forget to try one of those thick, creamy milkshakes, in ice-cream flavors you never would've thought possible.
