Cheap Thrills

EARTHLY CLUES: How many know the subtle difference between the indentations of a white-tailed and a mule deer? Well, there's one nature tracker who's earned her marks on a national level, and now footprint sleuth extraordinaire Sue Morse shares her expertise with locals.

Her group, Keeping Track, is dedicated to identifying, monitoring, and educating on important wildlife habitat and travel corridors.

She'll likewise help you recognize non-felonious footprints in your own backyard with a slide show and discussion from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 4, in the UA Water Resources Research Center, 350 N. Campbell Ave. There was originally a $10 admission fee, but the benevolent UA demanded a kickback. So now éntre is granted with a suggested donation. For more information, call 323-0547.

PUBESCENT GREETINGS. Despite what the blathering coifs on the nightly news say, this town is chock-full of well-meaning kids who deserve a little attention. And the Tucson Parks and Recreation Department dish up just that with their Tucson Meet Your Teens event on Saturday, April 5.

The action kicks off when the Mayor's Office presents an Outstanding Teen Citizen Award. HotTopic, meanwhile, sponsors a fashion show, sharing the stage with body art, skateboard demos, a cheer squad and dance team exhibitions. And things hit high frequency when KRQ's Betsy Bruce officiates the Battle of the Sexes.

Free event runs from noon to 3 p.m. in Reid Park DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center. Free shuttles will leave at 11:30 a.m. from the Tucson Mall, Udall Center, Park Mall and Pueblo High School parking lots. For details, call 791-5223. TW
