Suze Rutherford will be in Tucson Friday, Feb. 5 to discuss her work documenting efforts to bring women's voices to an all-male council of elders in Pankisi Gorge, a small, rural area in the predominantly Christian republic of Georgia. Pankisi Gorge is an isolated Muslim district in which many refugees from Chechnya have settled. Rutherford will be joined by Tucsonan Miriam Black, who conducted all the interviews for the film, The Pankisi Women's Stories Project Presents: In The Council Of Women. The screening is free and starts 6:30 p.m. at CENTER (55 N. 6th Ave., Suite #101). For more info, call CENTER at 623-2106.
