I just returned from a two-week vacation. I hear I missed some impressive storms here in the Old Pueblo. And I understand that Gov. Jan Brewer had a meltdown of sorts.
Did I miss anything else while I was gone?
Frankly, I needed the break, considering that the summer slowness is in the past, and we're now fully engaged in two of the craziest (in a good way) months of the year.
The craziness started with the Tucson Area Music Awards (TAMMIES) concert and ceremony at the Rialto Theatre—check out the special section in this week's issue, and head to TucsonWeeklyTV.com to watch some videos of the event—and continues in two weeks with the Best of Tucson® issue, on which we're just putting the finishing touches.
You'll like this year's Best of Tucson® issue. Trust me.
Then in October, we have our quarterly Pride section (focusing on the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community); our Fall Club Crawl®, which will fill downtown Tucson with the sounds of great local music on Saturday, Oct. 16; and Yum!, our twice-a-year dining guide.
There's also an election and a bunch of special events to cover; the any-day-now launch of our brand-new, fully functional mobile website (m.tucsonweekly.com); the evolution of our new Happy Hours website (happyhours.tucsonweekly.com); and all sorts of other things we're working on that I am not yet at liberty to discuss.
As always, we're always looking on feedback and ideas. Got anything to share? My e-mail address is below.
