Wear Your Legwarmers

Well, Best of Tucson® is finished. Adam Kurtz, Irene Messina and I spent some quality time at Weekly World Central last Saturday and put the final touches on the issue. I have to say, it looks damn fine. Look for it on a distribution rack and/or computer screen near you next Thursday, Sept. 24.

If you just can't wait to get your hands on the Best of Tucson®, though, and/or you want to get your groove on, '80s-style, I strongly recommend heading down to Laffs Comedy Caffe next Wednesday, Sept. 23. To celebrate our 25th anniversary, and to have a little bit of fun with our Best of Tucson® theme—1984—we're having a Back to the '80s Karaoke Night. We'll be announcing all of the winners and handing out copies of the issue at the wingding—and that'll be your first chance to get the 411 on all of the Best of Tucson® results. (We're holding our online edition and early print distribution until Thursday next week.) Doors open at 7:30, and the warbling starts at 8.

It's going to be a fun event—and admission is free!—so I highly recommend stopping by. God knows I'll be there. (However, I won't be singing '80s karaoke. I have a very, very good reason for not doing so; it has to do with an incident involving a car break-in and The B-52's song "Love Shack." Long, unfortunate story.)

Hope to see you there. In the meantime, enjoy this week's fantastic issue.
