Volunteers Sought for Master Gardeners
Applications for the Pima County Master Gardener program are due by Sunday, Sept. 1. Master Gardeners complete 50 hours of training in topics ranging from basic plant science to water conservation. To earn certification they serve as volunteer interns for another 50 hours. Classes are held from 9 a.m. to noon every Thursday through April, 2014; $150. Those accepted to the program are notified by Thursday, Oct. 31. Visit extension.arizona.edu/pima/master-gardener or call 626-5161 for an application.
