Too many things are wrong with this movie. First and foremost: Academy Award winner Javier Bardems terrible performance and awkward delivery. He painfully blurts out each line of Woody Allens scriptwherein lies the next problem. Allens famously funny and witty dialogue is nonexistent here. Instead, bland words said by unsympathetic and unappealing characters fall flat. Rebecca Halls performance as the reserved and rational woman who turns risky and randy is refreshing, while Penélope Cruz also has her moments as a feisty ex-wife thriving on a bohemian lifestyle. However, the problems outweigh the successes and make this an utter waste of time.
