Very Special

Due to a scheduling fluke, three of the next four Tucson Weekly editions will be special issues.

(I know what you're thinking: "Jimmy, isn't every issue of the Tucson Weekly special, like children, or snowflakes, or something?" Yes, you're right. But these are extra-special issues.)

Here's what we have coming up:

• On Feb. 24 (that's next week!), we'll have our next Pride issue. This year, we've got three of these special lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender/etc. special sections planned; to see what we've done in the past, head on over to

• On March 10, we're doing a special Literary Issue. Given that the Tucson Festival of Books is happening on March 12 and 13, we thought this would be a perfect time to dedicate our cover package (and some other features, too) to Tucson's fine local authors, our literary history and more. (Of course, each and every week, we dedicate coverage to Tucson/Southwestern literature, unlike a certain morning daily in our town. Ahem. But you knew that already, so I digress.)

• On March 17, we'll be back with our much-loved Yum! dining guide, featuring a collection of compelling local-food-related features—plus the return of our entire Chow Scan listings, from A to Z! Mark your calendars, and feel free to drop by to peruse previous Yum! content.

• Oh, one other thing: In April, we'll launch the voting for our 25th annual Best of Tucson®. If you have any suggestions for new categories or other changes you'd like to see, drop me a line!
