Rated R · 90 minutes · 2009

Director James Toback gets Mike Tyson to sit down for some honest interviews, and it’s captivating stuff. Mixing archive footage with Tyson’s tattooed talking head, the film is alternately informative and frightening. Among the archival footage is an uncensored, post-prison tirade during which Tyson threatens a journalist who asks a stupid question. Also amazing is Tyson’s recounting of the Evander Holyfield ear-biting fiasco; it seems that the head-butting awakened the cannibal within. The movie is always interesting, and Toback gets a lot of credit for presenting Tyson in such an upfront fashion; nothing is held back.
