Tucson Young Professionals host the first big party for Tucson's Birthday month with a margarita and salsa competition among some of Tucson's best-known restaurants, sweets from local bakeries, and a VIP networking reception, co-hosted by Greater Tucson Leadership and featuring candidates for Tucson mayor and City Ccouncil. A pinata filled with discounts from restaurants, entertainment venues and retail stores; photo-ops in 19th-century Tucson street scenes; and SalsaCaliente520 presented by KFMA are also featured in the event, which takes place from 7:30 to midnight, Friday, Aug. 5. $20; $35 VIP.
