Three libraries offer free author-led workshops to encourage Tucsonans to write about their own heritage and experiences in our town. From 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25, Marge Pellegrino conducts a one-hour writing workshop about how to write lively memories of Tucson at Woods Memorial Branch Library, 3455 N. First. From 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, Pellegrino leads a writing workshop that starts by making simple journals with marbleized covers at Eckstrom-Columbus Branch Library, 4350 E. 22nd St., 594-5825. From 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, Molly McKasson inspires participants to creatively record Tucson memories at Himmel Park Library, 1035 N. Treat Ave., 594-5305, ext. 3.
