    Re: “T Q & A
Thanks to Casey Dewey and the TW team for doing such a fine job interviewing my Mother and summing up my family's history, dedication, melancholy and a certain thrill of pride having worked so hard for nearly 50 years to bring joy to so many people's lives.
I just want folks to realize that this is a gift from the Residents of Winterhaven to the Masses. We collectively pay for all the expenses regarding the Festival, which is estimated to be around $65,000 per year. There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE to get into Winterhaven and the Festival of Lights. However, it is requested that each person bring some non-perishable food for the Community Food Bank. Collection Stations will be at the Country Club and Ft. Lowell entrances. If you are coming for the Concert Show on our front lawn this Sunday evening, we will have a Collection Bin at our home at 3354 North Christmas Avenue for the evening of the 22nd only for those who enter the Prince or Tucson Boulevard entrances or slip by the bins at the other locations. Also, keep in mind it is a walk-through only night on the 22nd, so you will need to park outside the neighborhood and walk to the center "Island" area to come watch and hear Jovert Steel Drum Band play and Jodi Netzer dance.

Thanks for bringing the truth about these Tucson treasures to the general population through this touching article. We've known for many years how wonderful these LGBTQ folks are and how valuable they are to our community, now it's common knowledge. Refreshing!

Congrats to Zachary Vito on his well-deserved awards. For our shoot he was a prefect gentleman, professional and inquisitive in appropriate ways. He even helped set the Memorial up for the award-winning shot taken up the center of downtown's "Rattlesnake Bridge" and helped me get everything, including myself, safely back to the car and packed away. He is an awesome photographer, he's intelligent, friendly, a delight to work with and he is a true gentleman. The Weekly needs more like him.
