Winner of the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, this movie from South Africa tells the story of a criminal (Presley Chweneyagae) who finds a baby in an automobile he carjacks and decides to keep it. He stows it in a big paper bag that he keeps under the bed, and forces a neighbor to nurse the child when he runs out of options. The film is actually far more heartfelt and serious than it sounds, with Chweneyagae delivering a stunning performance as a man who has no concept of right or wrong. Director Gavin Hood doesnt shy away from brutal moments, and some of the film is a bit hard to take. While its not the best foreign film of 2005 (Oldboy and Paradise Now were better), its a very good film. The kid they found to play the baby is amazing.
