Re: “Hidden Agenda?

gitanobandolero said on Dec 31: “Principal is telling the truth because it's the reality that the school doesn't have an organic or official tie with Gulen Movement or Fethullah Gulen.”

no “organic” tie…now where have I heard that before…oh yeah:

Joshua D. Hendrick Ph.D. Thesis University of California Santa Cruz 2009 - quote:
“Examples of such consistent ambiguity are numerous. As mentioned in Chapter 3, Gulen was born both in 1938 and in 1941. As mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, Gulen is both the reason behind his schools, and he has nothing whatsoever to do with them. When I asked a hoca at Akademi about the connections that exist between the schools, the companies, the media, and the "dialogue institutes" around the world, he offered verbatim the same answer I heard throughout the network: "there is no organic connection between these institutions.” The ubiquity of this phrase led me to understanding that by stating this, GM loyalists were protecting themselves. On the one hand, total information about the structure and movement of people, resources, and intent is privileged to a very small number of directors and executives at varying institutions. On the other hand, the majority of people in the GM share information horizontally "with the right hand unaware of the left at any particular time." What these denials communicate is, "Who are you?" Why are you asking these questions? What is your agenda? For whom are you working? Indeed, Fethullah Gulen is feared by many in Turkey's power structure (Chapter 1). Thus while it is perfectly rational for it do so, I learned that maintaining ambiguity was a strategy consciously employed by the GM to ward off its perceived enemies, and to recreate itself as necessary.”

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

Regarding the denial that the Accord Institute is associated with Gulen: In summer 2008 Fatih Karatas and other teachers and administrators from Sonoran Science Academy attended an "Admin and Teacher Workshop" at the Accord Institute. The directions given in the workshop brochure say "Hotel to Pacifica Institute" and "Pacifica Institute to Hotel." Many of the workshop sessions were held in rooms of the Pacifica Institute. The floor plan given in the brochure shows that Pacifica and Accord occupy the same building at 17851 Sky Park Circle, Irvine, CA, 92614. The Pacifica Institute's association with Fethullah Gulen can be clearly seen on its website.
