Re: “The Skinny

She's voted with the Trumpers & R's 93% of the time. I'm amazed that anyone would be surprised by her reluctance to speak on the possibility of a pedophile being elected to the Senate....and yes, I do believe those women!

Re: “The Skinny

McSally a "moderate Republican?" That's a joke. She's voted in lock step with POTUS-T 93% of the time. Her prior stand on health care & now on Trump's tax plan prove she's no moderate.

Re: “Danehy

Death has been a common occurrence in my life, since age barely 6 years old, when my dad died. Two years later when my uncle died, I knew what that meant; that person wasn't coming back. During my 30+ career as an RN/ANP, I sat at the bedside, held the hand, grieved with the family of many patients of mine who died. Deployed for 2 years to LRMC when the battles were raging & the incoming averaged 750/month, and the outbound to the US averaged 680/month. I saw many, many who were never going to live the same physical life that they'd had, and even more who will always bear the mental scars of war. That was like a death. Recently, one of the people in my life who I've loved & has been my friend for over 30 years has died. He was one of those people who has been a touchstone in my life; always there somewhere, always able to reach out & say hey, if I needed a lift or a bit of ass-kicking counseling. Now he's gone. The void is there, something that can't be filled, but will eventually scar over to join other scars. Death is, indeed, a total bitch.

Re: “The Skinny

Let's see how McSally votes on this: For those who don't know, the SPLC is the Southern Poverty Law Center

JUNE 7, 2017
This week the U.S. House of Representatives will likely vote on a bill that would strip away safeguards needed to stop predatory lenders from trapping low-income people in an endless cycle of poverty and debt.
The House is expected to pass this outrageous legislation.
But that doesnt mean the fight is over. Were monitoring this bill as it moves through Congress and will need your help.
The Financial CHOICE Act eliminates vital consumer protections in the Dodd-Frank law that was enacted after the 2008 financial crisis sent the country spiraling into one of the worst recessions ever.
Tucked inside the bill is a provision that short-circuits pending rules needed to rein in lenders who offer payday and car title loans. It even prohibits the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) from ever regulating this industry.
These loans trap millions of poor people across America in a nightmare of debt. Often, theyre people who just need a little money to buy food or pay a water bill. In some states, lenders get away with anything and are allowed to charge crippling interest rates like in Alabama, where interest on a payday loan is 456%.
Last year many of you submitted comments to the CFPB about these payday practices and urged the agency to enact commonsense regulations to protect the most vulnerable consumers. Now, the Financial CHOICE Act would prohibit the CFPB from regulating payday lenders. Its a giveaway to an industry that profits from the desperation of the poorest Americans.
Were not going to give up on this and neither should you.
Read more about the CHOICE Act and its implications for low-income communities, and get ready to take action with us against this bill.
The fight isnt over yet.

Re: “The Skinny

A retired Army 18Z dear friend of mine died recently. Today would have been his birthday. He & others of his team worked with my old medical USAR unit here in Tucson, challenging us, convincing us to do things we might never have tried, showed us how to better take care of our troops and be better officers.
If he'd heard me whining like you, Col McSally, he'd have respectfully reminded me of the big picture, of what my job was & entailed, and "encouraged" me to get on with it. If that hadn't worked he'd have not so respectfully asked me to find my backbone, and get on with doing my job, stop whining, or get the hell out of the way and let someone willing to actually do the job get it done. Apparently you never had any great NCO's that helped "raise you" or you've forgotten their lessons! It's time you grew a spine again, & started representing your constituents, not just the "R" after your name.

Re: “McSally Declines To Take a Stand on Zombie Trumpcare

As sgsmith said above, the military saying of "no guts, no glory" is a common one. Unfortunately, COL McSally has apparently forgotten or lost a great deal of the principles of her military years. She's also forgotten that officers take care of their troops & how that applies to how she needs to apply the principle to ALL of her constituents. She doesn't want to talk to us, doesn't want to hold open forums, doesn't want anything that isn't filtered through multiple layers to make the questions "safe" for her to deal with.
Oh, she's going to be taking bows for proposing that Congressmen & women should lose their Congressional insurance......does this affect her? To some extent, but let's not forget she's also eligible for TRICARE, a pretty decent insurance for retired military, which most of her colleagues will not qualify for. So, bottom line, she'll take the bows while still having her own insurance needs met. No bows, Martha, no bows for you or for your unwillingness to be a REAL Congresswoman for ALL of your people!
