In 1979, Italian director Giulio Paradisi (aka Michael J. Paradise) brought together John Huston, Shelly Winters, Glenn Ford, Lance Henriksen, Sam Peckinpah as a doctor and Franco Nero as a lion-maned Christ figure for this amazing WTF film. Huston stumbles around as Jerzy, some type of intergalactic warrior for good and decency. He leaves his world of white linen and bald children to battle an 8-year-old girl and her pet hawk in Atlanta. Her mother is dating Henriksen, a basketball team owner who’s part of some Illuminati conspiracy whose goal is to impregnate the mother with another demon seed. Or something. There’s also some UFO mumbo jumbo that never pans out, but this isn’t the type of film to try to follow. Instead, revel in a movie where Ford plays a cranky cop, little girls get loaded guns for birthday presents and a basketball game explodes for no reason.
