There is turmoil in Tinseltown when Tim Allen suits up again as jolly old Saint Nick in this ho-ho-hokey sequel to the 1994 original. Now eight years later the comedian is in full toy-making mode in the brightly colored cardboard cut-out of the North Pole with his bad acting crew of elves and demonic-looking animatronic reindeer until the stocking stuffer learns that he needs to get hitched before Christmas Day or else his role as Santa will cease to exist. Unfortunately the desantification process already has begun; therefore, he flees the North Pole in search for the future Mrs. Clause faster than you can say "A Partridge in a Pear Tree." Meanwhile, a Napolean-esque toy Santa with a hot cocoa addiction takes over Tinseltown and turns it into a coal-making sweat shop, the macho Tooth Fairy has an identity crisis, Santa, Jr. gets put on the Naughty List, and Mother Nature is moody because she is "pre-El Niño." The kids will enjoy director Michael Lembeck’s innocent attempt at bringing moviegoers a little holiday cheer this year, but the parents will have a hard time seeing past the pathetic special effects, the ridiculously fake set design, and the film’s overall kindergarten quality.
