The Recruit

In director Roger Donaldson’s latest film, Al Pacino resumes his typical role of an all-knowing mentor with a domineering presence. This time his apprentice is a genius computer hacker from MIT, played effectively by Colin Farrell, who skillfully holds his own on screen along side the impressive veteran. Together the two pursue the teacher/student dichotomy through the rigorous cloak and dagger training of becoming the next James Bond for the CIA, while Bridget Moynahan adds another layer of sexual intrigue to the mix. As the covert maneuvers and fierce combat tactics unveil, the motto of "nothing is as it seems" colors every move in this compelling, fast-paced action thriller that will keep viewers guessing until the end.
