Rated NR

With her mysterious Britney Spears charm and cute Meg Ryan quirks, Hilary Duff takes her popular Disney situation comedy to the big screen for the female tweeners to follow. And follow they will as the up-and-coming teen idol portrays every girl’s fantasy when she flies to Rome for a two-week vacation after her junior high school graduation to tour the city on the back of a scooter with an Italian heartthrob, and to pose as a pop star at the International Music Awards after the original musician goes AWOL. The Mouse House adds the right amount of its typical tenderhearted sappiness; director Jim Fall adds breathtaking scenery and an entertaining animated inner adolescence of the lead actress, and Duff adds her infectious smile and comedic timing all of which make a winning combination.
