Re: “Political Galaxy Makes for Easy Voting

I love Project Vote Smart, but this time, they got it wrong.

Low voter participation is not the result of people not being able to connect politicians with issues.

Voters really don't have any choice. Would you shop at a store with only one item on the shelve? Particularly if you don't like it (him/her)?

The structure causes the low participation. One party dominated districts leave voters with meaningless ballots. Big money drowns out most voices. And government subsidizes private organizations (political parties) by picking up the costs of the election of their candidates. People are participating when they become independent, rejecting through their re-registration, structurally corruption.

Kwasman and his friends are paying good campaign contributions to look like clowns and join the other clowns in Congress.

Re: “Get to Know Some Potential TUSD School Board Candidates

Is it helpful for education to have partisanship spead into traditional nonpartisan elections when both political parties are losing membership?

Re: “Dems File Suit To Knock Ethan Orr From Ballot

The 61 signatures who are not registered as Republicans might well be independents. Those without a party preference can sign either Republican or Democratic or no-party preference petitions. Over 40% of the Arizona voters are neither Republicans nor Democrats, a percentage that is growing. Watching this kind of cat fight probably will swing a few more into re-registering as having no party preference. Just go on line, change your registration, and send a message to both parties.

There are many who merit being "busted." I often wondered why anyone would wish to have their effigy on which pigeons will freely defaecate?

Re: “Campaign Group Turns in Pension Initiative Signatures

The Range.

As an independent, I am undecided.

Sustainable retirement benefits for whom? Many voters have no retirement plan whatsoever. Living on social security in Tucson is next to impossible. I have no idea, at this point, how these voters will view this proposal and doubt most understand it. All are aware of cities flipping upside down based on an overcommitment, however.

Please publish a chart showing the past and project future status of the City's debt load (as % of tax revenue) and the past and anticipated future obligations of the taxpayers to the proposed plan + old plan and the current system.
