Adventure, Animated, Fantasy, Musical comedy
A great year in animation gets even better with the latest treat from Disney, a funny, glorious take on the story of Rapunzel and her astonishingly long hair. When Flynn Ryder (the voice of Zachary Levi) takes refuge in a forest tower, he is konked on the head by Rapunzel (Mandy Moore); she has been imprisoned since infancy, yet is still quite sprightly. The two eventually leave the tower on a journey to witness the “floating lights” that Rapunzel has witnessed every year on her birthday. She finds both true love and the royal family she was taken away from long ago. (Awww!) The movie has some nice music and is drawn well. The extra dough for the 3-D version is money well spent, because the effects are spectacular.
