In addition to this information in this article, Rincon High School's scores shot through the roof this year. Our Fall AIMS scores bested the district average in all categories (Reading, Writing and Math). Our reading and writing scores had 70% of students either meets or exceeds. Most wanted to look at our Spring AIMS scores, which would be mostly students who were taking it for the first time. Despite Dr. Pedicone saying that only the turnaround model could bring about the success needed, our numbers improved greatly as well. Writing scores went up 7% (52% to 59%), math went up 14% (33% to 47%) and reading went up 19% (49% to 68%).

People both in and out of the district said that these were good schools with good teachers who had a rough couple of years because of a lack of administrative leadership. Unfortunately, that fell on deaf ears as district leadership didn't seem to care. Now that they've been proven wrong, I doubt they'll even acknowledge the scores.
