Re: “Old Heads vs. Young Bucks: Hip-Hop’s Dilemma

Wow, that is an incredibly short-sighted viewpoint. Hip-hop is a rich history of art, culture, and overcoming oppression, and you have just managed to completely dismiss the whole of it.

I personally don't care for most of today's rap music; I think that these "young bucks" have lost sight of the true meaning behind it, but instead of just making an uninformed, hasty generalization that all people involved in rap are gangbangers, why don't you actually explore the culture first?

Listen to artists like KRS-One, Kool Moe Dee, NWA, Run-DMC, The Fearless Four, Kurtis Blow, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, or any of a thousand other hip-hop greats, and then come back and tell there's no artistic merit to it.
